I came to Greenville to attend Furman University, and over the years, this community has become my permanent home. After Furman, I went on to earn my law degree from the University of South Carolina, graduating with honors and ranking in the top 5% of my class.

I began my legal career serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG), where I gained extensive trial experience and developed a strong foundation in criminal defense. Following my military service, I worked with private law firms before establishing Evans Law Firm — returning to my roots in criminal defense and dedicating my practice solely to defending people accused of crimes.

For nearly four decades, I’ve built a reputation for honest advice, strong advocacy, and treating clients with respect. I don’t delegate cases to staff — when you hire Evans Law Firm, you work directly with me.

Outside the courtroom, I enjoy reading crime fiction, training for marathons, and spending time with my three granddaughters.
